Jacob’s look was stern. Gone was the soft tone. He was done asking, and ready to take. Vivienne’s skin tingled. The private room, the rich leather and crimson colors, pulled her into a darker world, one she craved.

“I need to teach you to obey,” Jacob said. “That is one of the first lessons.”

His words made her belly tighten, and Vivienne bit her lower lip. She waited, unsure what was next. Then Jacob’s muscles flexed. “I’m going to spank you. I’ve wanted to for some time. What I did in your shop was a sample. But there’s much more.”

Vivienne didn’t know how to react, but she didn’t need to. Jacob took charge.

Vivienne nodded, unable to fathom what too much would be.

Jacob glanced at implements hanging on the wall, seeming to settle on a particular one. He walked over and retrieved a paddle. “This will do,” he said.

Heat flooded Vivienne’s lower belly, but she didn’t stop to assess her reaction. All her focus was on Jacob. He sat on a wooden stool and swiveled it to face her. “Come here, Vivienne.”

On wobbly legs, Vivienne stood and went over to him. There wasn’t an ounce of defiance in her body. She craved every bit he would give her. The bra she wore was tight as her nipples pressed against the lace covering. Instinctively, she squeezed her thighs together.

Jacob’s eyes softened just a little. “Lift your dress.”
